With ongoing trends in a complex industry like healthcare, surgeons and physicians are the natural stewards for the industry. With effective leadership development, they also represent the individuals who are best qualified to provide optimal leadership for all types of institutions. By doing so, healthcare will become safer, with higher levels of quality and efficiency; in addition to ensuring improved value for true patient-centered care.
