Micaela Weaver, DO, FSSO, FACS is a fellowship-trained Breast Surgical Oncologist and board-certified general surgeon at Women & Infants and Kent Hospitals of Rhode Island. She is an Assistant Professor, Clinician Educator, in the Departments of Surgery and Obstetrics & Gynecology at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, as well as the Associate Program Director of the Breast Surgical Oncology Fellowship. She earned her medical degree at West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, completed her residency in general surgery at Flushing Hospital Medical Center, and her SSO-accredited fellowship training in Breast Surgical Oncology at Women & Infants Hospital of Rhode Island/Brown University. Dr. Weaver specializes in hidden scar/oncoplastic surgical techniques and has additional interest in transgender and gender diverse breast cancer risk and screening. Dr. Weaver is also passionate about surgical education and the experience of women in surgical specialties. She is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a Fellow of the Society of Surgical Oncology. She was named 40 Under 40 Outstanding Women Surgeons by the Association of Women Surgeons in 2022 and was a peer-named Top Doc by Rhode Island Monthly Magazine in 2024.
