Larry W Kraiss MD FACS DFSVS is Professor Emeritus of Surgery (Vascular) at the University of Utah. He completed a 30-year career in academic vascular surgery in June 2025 with a broad-based clinical portfolio in arterial and venous reconstruction. At various times during his tenure at the University of Utah, Dr. Kraiss held NIH research funding (endothelial cell biology), served as Division Chief (15 years), Vascular Fellowship Director (8 years) and Director of the Vascular Laboratory (22 years). For the past 15 years, he conducted a vigorous outreach program traveling to rural areas in the Intermountain West where he saw vascular outpatients in their hometowns. He received a HealthCare Champion Award from the University of Utah in 2025 in recognition of these outreach efforts.
