She also has a special interest in promoting networking and mentorship for women surgeons. In 2019, Dr. Tejirian had to retire from clinical practice due to a nerve injury resulting from cervical spine surgery. The subsequent personal journey of rehabilitation ignited her new passion for health and wellness for surgeons. Using her platform, both as a surgeon and health educator, she is now focused on promoting health and wellness within healthcare and for the public at large. She is writing and speaking about surgeon physical health, injury prevention, prevention through ergonomics, and the importance of surgeon wellness. She has created and organized wellness conferences and wellness centers within surgical conferences. Her goal is to foster a world where the body, mind, and soul of all surgeons are immersed in health & wellness.
