Michelle Sowden, DO, FACOS is an Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of Vermont. She received her fellowship in breast surgery from Yale University after completing residency at Mount Clemens Regional Medical Center in Michigan. At the University of Vermont she is engaged in research regarding rural impacts on cancer care, novel use of ultrasound for intraoperative cancer localization and quantifying breast lymphedema and its impact on patients. She serves the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners as the Chair of the Surgery COMAT exam.
