Dean is a third-year medical student who recently completed a dedicated research year as an Academic Scholar with a concentration in Anatomy at the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine at Arkansas State University. During his scholar year, he led cadaveric dissections and teaching components of the gross anatomy laboratory for first-year medical students. He has also served as a mentor through various tutoring roles, leadership positions, and ambassadorships for students interested in pursuing medicine. Harrison has participated in diverse research areas, including cell and tissue culture, programming and modeling, and systematic review work. His research has since expanded to include electrophysiology and machine learning, with a focus on cardiovascular medical education. Harrison continues to engage with the surgical community through research and initiatives related to burnout and wellness within surgical subspecialties, as well as projects in cardiothoracic surgery. He is excited to present his current work at the 2025 American College of Osteopathic Surgeons Annual Clinical Assembly. Originally from Northwest Arkansas, Harrison enjoys the local coffee roasters and the natural beauty of his home state. In his free time, he plays pickleball, ping pong, and golf.
