Upon completion, participant will be able to describe the structure and purpose of Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine’s service-learning curriculum, including its focus on Social Determinants of Health (SDoH).
Upon completion, participant will be able to evaluate how social determinants of health influence surgical outcomes.
Upon completion, participant will be able to interpret the study’s survey results, including both quantitative findings and qualitative themes.
Upon completion, participant will be able to recognize how mandatory preclinical community-based service-learning influences medical students’ understanding of SDoH.
Upon completion, participant will be able to discuss the implications of integrating community-based service-learning into osteopathic medical education and its potential to address health disparities in diverse communities.
