Dr. Zachary Laucis, DO is a board-certified trauma surgeon and surgical intensivist currently serving as Associate Director of the Surgical Intensive Care Unit at Beacon Memorial Hospital in South Bend, Indiana. In this role, he works alongside a multidisciplinary team to care for critically ill and injured surgical patients, with particular focus on trauma resuscitation, perioperative critical care, and continuous quality improvement within the ICU setting. Dr. Laucis earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his general surgery residency at Corewell Health – Dearborn. He went on to pursue fellowship training in trauma and surgical critical care at Loyola University Medical Center, where he deepened his commitment to evidence-based care and collaborative critical care delivery. He remains actively involved in national professional organizations, including the Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM), Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma (EAST), American College of Osteopathic Surgeons (ACOS), and the American College of Surgeons (ACS). Dr. Laucis is dedicated to advancing the field of surgical critical care through ongoing clinical engagement, team-based education, and efforts to improve outcomes for complex surgical populations.
